And the LORD said unto Gideon,
By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the
Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his
place. (Judges 7:7)
It would be a good thing for the
Church of God if all the fearful and faithless ones were to step to the rear,
and let those who are full of faith and courage take their empty pitchers and
go forward against the enemy. The little band of three hundred men who were
left with Gideon routed the Midianites, but it was not their own might that
gave them the victory. It was “the sword of the Lord and of Gideon.” If we go
on in the Name of the Lord, and trusting to His might, we shall succeed.
